The short version: The ReceiptHaven app collects nothing. It has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. Your receipts, and everything extracted from them, stay on your Mac. This page also explains the small amount of data our website and our payment processor handle, because those are separate from the app.
ReceiptHaven is made by Bravo Consulting Limited, a company registered in New Zealand ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@receipthaven.com.
This policy explains how we handle personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, and — where they apply to you — the EU/UK GDPR and similar laws.
ReceiptHaven is a native Mac application that runs entirely on your device:
The app makes no network requests to us or to anyone else in order to do its work. You can disconnect from the internet entirely and every feature still functions. We have no ability to see your receipts, because there is no channel through which they could reach us. Deleting the app and its data folder removes everything.
The app contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party SDKs of any kind.
Our website (receipthaven.com) is a static site. Two things there involve data:

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers on our website.
Sales of ReceiptHaven from our website are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited, which acts as the Merchant of Record. When you buy, Paddle collects and processes the information needed to complete the sale — your name, email address, billing country, tax identifiers where relevant, and payment details.
We never see or store your full payment details. Paddle processes them and is responsible for that data under its own privacy policy, available at paddle.com/legal/privacy. We receive from Paddle only what we need to run the business: your email address, order details, and country, so that we can deliver your licence, provide support, and handle refunds.
If you buy through the Mac App Store instead, Apple is the seller and Apple's privacy policy applies to that transaction. Apple does not share your personal details with us.
If you email us for help, we keep that correspondence so we can assist you and remember the context if you write again. Please don't send us copies of your actual receipts or financial records — we don't need them to help you, and we'd rather they stayed on your Mac where they belong.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. The only parties who process data on our behalf are the service providers named above: our website host, our email/newsletter provider, and Paddle as payment processor. Each handles only what its function requires.
We may disclose information if the law requires it — for example, in response to a valid legal demand. Since the app holds no data of yours, such a request could never produce your receipts.
We are based in New Zealand, and the service providers listed above may process data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
You can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have rights to restrict or object to processing and to data portability. Email hello@receipthaven.com and we'll respond within the timeframes the law sets.
In practice the answer is usually short: outside your email address and your order record, we hold nothing about you.
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a privacy issue, you can complain to the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner, or to your local data protection authority if you're in the EU or UK.
ReceiptHaven is a business tool and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and for material changes we'll say so on our website and to anyone on our mailing list. We won't make a change that retroactively reduces the protection of information we already hold.
