Refund Policy

Last updated: 4 August 2026

The short version: if ReceiptHaven isn't right for you, you get your money back. Where you ask depends on where you bought it:

Mac App Store — Apple processes the refund, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We have no access to those transactions.

Bought directly from this site — email hello@receipthaven.com within 14 days and we'll refund you in full. You don't have to explain why, and you don't have to argue with anyone.

Either way, there's a 14-day free trial first, so you can find out before any money changes hands.

14-day money back (purchases made directly from this site)

You can request a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, for any reason. We mean that literally: "it didn't fit my workflow" is a complete and acceptable reason. We'd rather you had your money back than owned software you don't use.

How to request one

Email hello@receipthaven.com from the address you used to buy, or include your order number (it's on the receipt Paddle emailed you). That's the whole process.

You can also request a refund directly through Paddle, our payment processor, using the link on your purchase receipt or via paddle.net.

What happens next

We approve refund requests within two business days, usually much faster. Paddle then returns the money to your original payment method. Banks typically take a further 3–10 business days to show the credit, which is outside our control.

Once refunded, your licence ends and you should delete the app. Your data is on your own Mac and stays there — a refund doesn't touch your files, and you can export anything you need first. We have no copy of it either way.

After 14 days

We're not rigid about the date. If something goes genuinely wrong — the app doesn't work on your Mac, a serious bug we can't fix, a duplicate charge — write to us regardless of when you bought. We'd rather sort it out than have you feel cheated.

What we can't refund is a change of mind months later on a product you've been using, or a purchase where the stated system requirements weren't met and were visible before buying (Apple silicon Mac, macOS 26 or later, Apple Intelligence enabled). If you're unsure whether your Mac qualifies, ask us before you pay.

Bought through the Mac App Store?

Apple handles those purchases and their refunds directly — we have no access to them, and we can't refund, discount or reverse an App Store charge on your behalf. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple is generally generous within 14 days. If Apple declines and you think that's unfair, email us anyway and we'll see what we can do.

Note that ReceiptHaven on the Mac App Store is free to download with a 14-day trial of every feature, and the unlock is a one-time in-app purchase — so in practice you'd only be paying after you already know it works on your receipts.

Your legal rights

This policy adds to your statutory rights; it doesn't replace them. Consumers in New Zealand have guarantees under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, and consumers in the EU and UK have their own rights, including the statutory right of withdrawal for distance purchases. Nothing here limits any of that.
